In April, as we celebrate Autism Awareness Month, PGS stands proud in its commitment to supporting initiatives that champion the rights and well-being of children with special needs. Recently, our CEO, Monique Myers, and Program Manager/Process Improvement Specialist, Robert Young, were honored to participate in the 2nd annual Autism Summit hosted by Prince George’s County Public Schools’ Department of Special Education. This summit, held in collaboration with esteemed organizations such as Pathfinders for Autism, Spectrum of Hope, and The Parents Place of Maryland, was a beacon of invaluable information and solidarity.
The summit focused on critical topics like managing challenging behaviors in children and navigating post-secondary transitions, all while featuring an inspiring keynote speaker whose words resonated deeply with attendees.
In line with our unwavering commitment to the community, PGS proudly supported a Parent Empowerment Conference for children with special needs on April 20, 2024. Our contribution of six gift cards valued at $15 each further emphasizes our dedication to making a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve.
This act of support underscores PGS’ broader commitment to Autism Awareness, community support, and empowerment. We believe that by standing together as allies and advocates, we can create a more inclusive and supportive world. Let us continue striving for understanding, acceptance, and meaningful change together.
