Martin Luther King Jr. Day, observed annually on the third Monday of January, is dedicated to honoring the life and contributions of one of the most influential figures in American history. Beyond the political discourse, MLK Day provides an opportunity for reflection, unity, and a shared commitment to compassion, equality, and justice.
We here at PGS are inspired by his teachings and the example he set, and we strive to undertake quarterly community service projects to improve the world around us. Some projects we hope to complete in 2024 include building two Little Free Libraries in underserved areas, spearheading a clothes drive for those in need, and working with military charities. In the past, we have packed snacks for food-insecure families, collected gift donations for the Salvation Army Angel Tree project, and cleaned up a stream in partnership with Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay.
